BANGALORE: It seems to be a game ofmusical chairs vis-Ã-vis the job of the physio of the Indian cricketteam.
In yet another decision toeing the 'rotation policy' theory, the incumbent
Nitin Patel will return to National Cricket Academy as its head physiotherapist after a two-month hiatus while Ashish Kaushik gets his big break with the tour of West Indies along with the senior team.
Koushik, whojoined the NCA around 18 months back during the Dav Whatmore period, was aphysio at Essex before joining the academy in Bangalore. With the England tourquickly following the West Indies tour, Kaushik is all set to seal a doublepackage.
It may be recalled that the long-serving Patel was handed a'well-earned rest' for Team India's Tour of South Africa last December-Januaryand the NCA staff Paul Close took the flight to the African nation.
In a dramatic turn of events, Patel replaced Close just before theWorld Cup with the latter losing his job in the process. Patel is busy with hisMumbai Indians job at the moment and will take up his NCA work after the IPLduty.
